libmtp-dbg software package provides Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) debugging symbols, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmtp-dbg
libmtp-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmtp-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmtp-dbg *
You will get with libmtp-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
